What is a historical NOTAM?
A NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) is an official notice filed with aviation authorities containing time-sensitive information about the state of the aeronautical system — runway closures, navigation aid outages, airspace restrictions, hazards, VIP movements, and more.
Once a NOTAM expires, it disappears from all public pre-flight briefing systems. NOTAM History preserves that data and makes it searchable by ICAO code and date, giving you access to what was in force at any specific moment in the past.
Who uses NOTAM History?
- Aviation accident & incident investigators — Reconstruct the exact aeronautical information that was available to a crew at the time of an event.
- Aviation lawyers & insurance adjusters — Verify whether a relevant NOTAM was active as evidence for legal proceedings or claims.
- Flight safety officers — Audit historical NOTAM coverage for safety reports and compliance documentation.
- Pilots & flight dispatchers — Review archived briefing data for post-flight documentation or incident review.
- Airlines & operators — Operational audits, regulatory compliance, and historical airspace analysis.
