Privacy policy
This privacy policy describes how notamhistory.com ("NOTAM History", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you use our historical NOTAM search service, create an account, or contact us. Last updated: June 2025.
Information we collect
- Email address — for search result delivery, account login, and service communications
- Account credentials or Google sign-in identifier when you register or authenticate
- Search parameters — ICAO aerodrome or FIR code, historical validity date, optional NOTAM number
- Search history and timestamps associated with your account when logged in
- Payment metadata processed by Stripe (we do not store full card numbers on our servers)
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and analytics events via Google Analytics
- Messages you send through our Contact form or support correspondence
How we use information
We use personal information to deliver NOTAM archive search results by email, operate and secure user accounts, process payments and subscriptions, display search history in My account, respond to enquiries, detect abuse, and improve service reliability and usability.
We do not sell personal data to third parties. We do not use search parameters for operational NOTAM briefing or redistribution as a live NOTAM product. Archive queries are processed solely to fulfil your requested historical lookup.
Legal bases and retention
Where applicable under GDPR and similar laws, we process data based on contract performance (providing paid searches and accounts), legitimate interests (security, analytics, service improvement), and consent where required (for example optional marketing if ever offered).
We retain account and search history for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for billing, dispute, and legal compliance purposes. Payment records follow Stripe and tax retention requirements. You may request deletion subject to exceptions for records we must keep by law.
Third-party processors
Stripe processes payments and subscription billing. Google provides authentication (if you choose Google sign-in) and analytics. Professional aviation data API providers receive search parameters necessary to retrieve archived NOTAM data. Email infrastructure providers deliver result messages.
These processors act under contractual terms appropriate to their role. Links to third-party privacy policies apply when you interact with their services directly (for example the Stripe customer portal via Billing).
International transfers and security
Data may be processed in the European Union and other jurisdictions where our hosting and subprocessors operate. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures — encryption in transit, access controls, and secure payment handling via Stripe — to protect personal information.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port personal data, and to object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise rights, contact us via the Contact form on the homepage or the email address on your payment receipt. We will respond within reasonable timeframes required by applicable law.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for session management, authentication, and analytics (Google Analytics). Analytics helps us understand usage patterns to improve the service. You may control cookies through browser settings; disabling cookies may limit account functionality.
Children and changes
NOTAM History is a professional service not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
